Description de la mission :
IUndicesimaora Onlus is a social cooperative founded in Senigallia in December 2011, as a result of the collaboration between the Fondazione Caritas Senigallia Onlus and the Fondazione Maria Grazie Balducci Rossi per i più bisognosi Onlus.
The aim of Undicesimaora is to improve the quality of life of people experiencing hardship and poverty in our area, through the creation of temporary workplaces, training and guiding to social reintegration. The work projects aim to teach a useful trade for future economic and working independence. Undicesimaora has 2 main sectors: social agriculture and upcycling. They manage fields, a warehouse 'Rikrea - Magazzino Solidale' in cooperation with Caritas, a carpentry and a unit for restoration and repair of furniture.
Other sectors that are of great importance to the cooperative are tourism, through the management of Camping Domus on the Senigallia seafront, and the strand of cultural
projects. In fact, the cooperative manages a bookshop in the centre of Senigallia, which over time has become a meeting and event development point.
These projects have increased employment opportunities, involving not only people in difficulty, but also young graduates who often struggle to find work.
Tâches du volontaire :
The volunteers will be involved in the activities of the association as follows:
Support at the SOLIDARITY GARDEN where the volunteers will take care of:
– PLANTING and WATERING: the volunteers will support the staff and the workers of the cooperative in the activity of planting the seeds. They will have the opportunity to know more about seeds and planting techniques. They will also support in watering the plants from the moment they plant them until the harvest. – HARVESTING: when the time comes, the volunteers will support the staff and the workers in the harvesting and picking of vegetables. This activity will help them to know the seasonality of vegetables and fruit.
– SORTING: after the harvest, they will support the staff and the workers in sorting the vegetables. They will clean them and divide them in boxes, ready for the delivery.
– DELIVERY: as specified above, the vegetables that we harvest in our solidarity garden are delivered to the facilities managed by Fondazione Caritas Senigallia. They use the vegetables in their canteens for people with fewer opportunities and for people in need. The volunteers will support the staff and the workers in the delivery
Support at RIKREA – a solidarity warehouse open to all citizens that enables the purchase and collection of furniture and furnishings of various kinds in good condition, the reuse of used clothing in good condition and the distribution of food for needy people in the area:
-clothing and food distribution and accommodation activities;
-sorting, checking and cleaning activities of the items placed in the warehouse (furniture, children’s toys, etc);
-activities of dismantling and assembling furniture, delivery and collection from the homes of private individuals.
Profil recherché :
The volunteer’s profile our organization is looking for is based on the following criteria:
-Personal motivations. We value the volunteers’ interest in the programme proposed and the expectation towards this experience more than specific skills: everything you need to do your service will be learnt here!
-English and Italian level. Italian or English are not needed, of course, a survival level will be helpful to get by in everyday needs, especially because you will be probably in touch with people who don’t generally speak foreign languages. This experience is also your opportunity to improve your communication skills!
-Interest in working with people. Working with people is essential to our work. We also value creative, proactive and self-motivated people
